Learn how to configure cost prices, minimal prices, and minimum/maximum quantities in Custom Settings to streamline the deployment of Sculptor CPQ.

Cost prices

This feature allows you to track with ease your expenses and revenues on the Quote Builder.

⚠️ Note: Cost prices are only available in the Quote Builder.

You need to create a new custom field on the Price book entry object or use any of your fields that are convenient for these purposes. Then this field should be specified in the "Product Cost Price" custom setting.

From Setup, navigate to Custom Settings → Product Cost Price, click Manage. Press New, and enter the Cost Price Field Name**,** click Save.

How to configure custom settings for cost prices

After setting it up, all your products will be provided with the values in the cost price fields. Let's switch to the Quote Builder to check how it works. If cost price was not set - zero value will be shown on Quote Builder.

Cost prices are grey-colored and placed into the Product Price column.
Net profit values are green-colored and placed into the Revenue column. To calculate single line item net profit, the cost price is subtracted from the product price and then multiplied with the quantity.
The total net profit shows the sum of all net profits and is green-colored and located against the bundle line in the Revenue column.
We can also track the total net profit with a subtracted total discount at the bottom of the page.

Minimal prices

It's good to recognize that you can't apply discounts infinitely. Minimal prices are in charge of this. Specify a minimal price in the relevant price book entry for specified products. As a result, the price won't be decreased below this threshold either by manual input or by pricing rules.

Find the necessary product in the Related Product List → Edit Price Book Entry, enter the Minimal Price, click Save.
